Term 1 Squad Information

Dear VHPS Parents,

Welcome back to the start of the academic year 2023/24 at Victory Heights Primary School! We’re thrilled to embark on another year of exciting sports activities and events.

As in previous years, we will be following the DASSA League format, which adds an extra layer of competitiveness to our sporting calendar. Just like before, each term will feature a diverse range of sports, allowing our students to explore their interests and discover new talents.

For this upcoming Term 1, we are pleased to announce that Boy’s Football, Girls Netball, and Mixed Swim Squad will be available for our students in Year 3 to 6. The squads are designed to provide a platform for skill development, teamwork, and a healthy dose of friendly competition.

To sign your child up for their chosen squads, please use the following link: Sign-Up Form. Please note, the sign up function will be closed Sunday 3rd September 10:30am.

*To help your child make the most of the swimming assessments, we strongly recommend that they have been participating in the advanced swimming group (Sharks) during their swimming lessons. This will ensure they are well-prepared and confident in their skills before attending the assessments.

For morning sessions, children should enter the school via Gate 4. Please note that the gate will not be opened until 6:55am. Under no circumstance should a child be left unattended whilst waiting for the Gate to be opened. Please also note that siblings must not be left unattended on school grounds.

For afternoon sessions, rest assured that our school staff will supervise the children and ensure their safe participation in the chosen ECA. However, it is important to note that it remains the responsibility of parents to collect their children from the designated locations at the specified finish times.
We’re excited to see our students embrace the sports squads with enthusiasm and determination. It’s a fantastic opportunity for them to make new friends, enhance their skills, and most importantly, have fun!

Thank you for your ongoing support, and we look forward to a successful year of sports ahead.

School Kerbside Drop-Off

School Kerbside Drop-Off
To ensure smooth traffic flow and the safety of our students, we kindly request that all parents and guardians follow these drop-off and parking instructions:
  1. One-Way System: Please adhere to the one-way system indicated on the map when navigating around the school. This system is designed to maintain an efficient traffic flow around the school premises.
  2. Be ‘Bag Ready’: Ensure your child has their bag ready when exiting the vehicle. This helps expedite the drop-off process and reduces delays. Parents are not required to exit the car. Our school staff will be present to assist children with safely exiting the vehicle. Children in Years 3-6 are expected to exit the car with minimal assistance.
  3. What gate?: Children in Year 1 and 2, please use Gate 2 for drop-off. Children in Years 3-6 should be dropped off at Gate 4.
  4. Siblings: If you have multiple siblings attending the school, please drop them off at the first designated stop to avoid making two separate stops.
  5. Restricted Site Access: Parents are not allowed on the school site at drop off*. All children should be dropped off using kerbside drop off, or alternatively to the school gate on foot. This measure is put in place for the safety and security of all students.
  6. Year 1 Parents: Parents of Year 1 students are welcome to drop their children off directly at the classroom. Please park by Grandiose Supermarket for this purpose. Starting from October half term, Year 1 parents will not be permitted to enter the school site.
  7. Encouraging Drop-Off: We strongly encourage all parents of children in Years 2-6 to utilise the drop-off system. Parking space is limited, and site entry is restricted, making the drop-off system the most efficient and convenient option.
Thank you for your cooperation in following these guidelines. They are designed to ensure the safety and well-being of all students and to maintain a smooth traffic flow around the school premises. Your understanding and support are greatly appreciated.
* With the exception of Year 1 parents until October half term.
