Dear Parents,
We are delighted to announce our upcoming Around the World Day on Monday, 13th January, and we greatly appreciate your enthusiasm and willingness to volunteer for this special event.
‘Around the World’ Day is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the diverse cultures represented within our school community, while fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the wider world. This year, we aim to make the event as educational and enriching as possible for our pupils.
What We Envision for the Stalls
We encourage each stall to showcase the richness of its chosen country with a focus on learning and exploration. Here are some ideas to include:
- Geography: Highlight the country’s capital city, major landmarks, and famous rivers.
- Famous Figures: Share information about notable individuals such as historical figures, athletes, or artists.
- Language: Teach simple phrases like “hello”, “goodbye”, and “how are you?” in the local language.
- Culture and Arts: Feature traditional music, artwork, or crafts.
- Trivia: Fun facts to engage the children and spark their curiosity.
The children will be given passports for the event, allowing them to “travel” from stall to stall. Each time they visit a country, they will receive a stamp for their passport, making the day both interactive and memorable.
