As we head into the final few weeks of the academic year, there is so much to celebrate and look forward to. From exciting student-led initiatives to opportunities for parent engagement, it’s wonderful to see our VHPS community buzzing with creativity, pride and energy. Please take a few moments to read the important updates below.
Student Spotlight – VHPS Coding Competition
We are delighted to highlight a brilliant student-led initiative from Saaim in Year 5 Blue, who has organised a Coding Competition for students in Years 4 and 5.
Using Scratch, students are invited to design and submit their own original game by Friday 13th June. Entries will be judged on uniqueness, aesthetics, functionality, code efficiency, and bonus features – with medals for the top 3 and certificates for all participants.

Important Announcements and Reminders
Class Structure Forms – Deadline Approaching
Parents of children in Years 1, 4, and 5 will have received an email regarding class groupings for next year. Please complete the form for your child’s year group by Friday 30th May at 12:00 PM.
We regret that forms submitted after this date will not be considered.
Currently, we have received a 66% completion rate – your input is essential.
Parent Showcase Week – Starting Monday 9th June
We are pleased to invite parents into school to view their child’s classroom and celebrate their work this term. Your child will share the pieces they are most proud of with you.
- Monday 9th June – Year 5
- Tuesday 10th June – Year 4
- Wednesday 11th June – Year 3
- Thursday 12th June – Year 2
- Monday 16th June – Year 1
All sessions will run from 2:15–3:00 PM in your child’s classroom.
Please note: Year 6 children will enjoy their Leavers’ Assembly on Friday 13th June, and will be able to take their books home that day.
ELLI Day – Friday 20th June
We are excited to celebrate ELLI Day on Friday 20th June – a special opportunity for children to reflect on their growth as lifelong learners. Children are invited to come dressed as their favourite ELLI Animal, and to bring a special snack to enjoy during breaktime.
VHPS Town Hall – Vision for 2025–26
Join Ms Sasha and Mr Rothwell for our annual Town Hall where we’ll share our vision for the upcoming academic year and answer your questions about the journey ahead. A parent form will be circulated shortly to collect questions in advance.

Sizzling Summer Disco – Tickets Now on Sale
We are excited to announce our upcoming Sizzling Summer Disco events! Children are invited to enjoy music, dancing, and fun with their friends to celebrate the end of term.
Disco Dates:
- Monday 2nd June – Years 1 to 3 (3:00–4:00 PM)
- Tuesday 3rd June – Years 4 to 6 (3:00–4:00 PM)
- Monday 10th June – FS2 (2:00–3:00 PM)
Tickets cost 20 AED per child and must be sent in a sealed envelope clearly marked with your child’s name and class. Envelopes should be handed in at Reception or to your child’s class teacher.
Please note we are unable to accept money that is not in a labelled envelope.
