STEAM Upcycling Competition – Y1 to Y6

Dear Parents,

As COP 28 is fast approaching, we strive to inspire and educate our students to become more environmentally conscious, we are excited to offer them the opportunity to take part in a STEAM Upcycling Competition.

This competition encourages students to explore the concept of upcycling, a positive and sustainable approach to waste management. Upcycling is a practice that takes old and discarded items and transforms them into something purposeful and innovative, giving new life to materials that might otherwise be wasted.

Our students are challenged to create a product from waste materials that
showcases both creativity and functionality. The deadline for entries is World STEAM Day, which falls on Wednesday, November 8th. Students are required to make a video presentation (to be posted on Seesaw) of no longer than two
minutes explaining how they made their creations, details of the materials they used, and demonstrate what their upcycled creations can be used for.

Students can find competition details on their STEAM class on Seesaw. Presentations will be shown in STEAM lessons and winners will be announced on November 30th, which will be the first day of COP 28, Dubai, and our own Victory Heights COP 28 Day too!

We look forward to witnessing the creativity and innovation that our students will bring to this competition.

Thank you for your continued support, and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or require further information about the competition.
